  • Paneer/cottage cheese – 200gm ( crumbled)
  • Oil for cooking – 1tbsp
  • Onion – 2 medium sized ( chopped)
  • Ginger – 1 inch piece (grated)
  • Tomatoes – 1 medium sized (chopped)
  • Peas – 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies – 2 chopped
  • Asafoetida – 2-3 pinch
  • Roasted dry fenugreek leaves – 1 tbsp
  • Jakhya seeds – 1 tsp ( if you don’t have jakhya use cumin seeds)
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder – 1tsp
  • Black pepper powder – 1tsp
  • Dried fenugreek leaves/ Kasuri methi – 1 tbsp (crushed)
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing.



  • Put a pan on the flame.
  • Add mustard oil to it,as it gets heated add jakhya or cumin seeds and saute for few seconds.
  • Now add chopped onions and saute until it get translucent.
  • Add grated ginger and peas,saute for 1 min.
  • Add chopped tomatoes ,salt, turmeric powder and black pepper powder and saute till tomatoes get mushy.


  • Now add crumbled paneer and crushed kasuri methi,Mix well.
  • Cover the pan with lid and cook in low flame for 3-4 minutes.
  • Dish is ready, garnish with coriander leaves.
