SPICY DRY ALOO BHAZI

INGREDIENTS

  • Potatoes – 2 medium-sized
  • Tomatoes – 2 medium-sized
  • Onion – 1 medium-sized (finely chopped)
  • Green chillies – 3-4
  • Jakhya seeds – 1tsp (optional)
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder – 1tsp
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Cooking oil – 2 tbsp

PROCEDURE

  • Cut potato in thin slices.
  • Make puree of tomatoes & green chillies.
  • Put a pan on medium flame.
  • Once pan gets heated, add oil.
  • Add jakhya seeds.
  • Add sliced potatoes and saute till they turn soft.
  • Remove fried potatoes from pan
  • Add some oil again.
  • Add jakhya seeds.
  • Now goes chopped onions, saute for 2 minutes till raw taste goes.
  • Add tomatoes-chilli paste,saute for 1 minute in medium flame
  • Add all spices & salt.
  • Saute until oil separates.
  • Now add fried potatoes,mix gently.
  • Keep pan in low flame cover with lid for 2 minutes.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • Spicy dry aloo(potato) bhazi is ready.
  • Serve it.
